Who We Are
The Kent Acting Studio has been established to provide pure drama classes for kids and adults alike who have an interest in acting and drama - without straying too much into the world of musical theatre.
We felt it was time to offer classes and workshops that concentrate more on the craftsmanship of acting allowing everyone to explore and benefit from this fantastically diverse art and life skill. We want all our students to enjoy what they do without a competitive atmosphere.
Within this wide and varied framework we can also provide more specialist tuition to suit individual needs such as voice coaching, audition techniques, lamda qualification tuition.

Tudor Price

My name is Tudor Price and I am the founder of The Kent Acting studio.
After many years of experience as a professional actor and latterly in business I am excited to be returning to my roots to share my passion for the spoken word and the buzz and thrill of all things dramatic!
I am Fully CRB checked and safeguarding registered with The Scouts Association. I am a trained and qualified first aider.
Any additional tutors or coaches that we use are also CRB checked
Professional Career.
I trained at Mountview Theatre School in London where I graduated with a Diploma in Acting and Musical Theatre. My very first job was as a karaoke singing lager lout in EastEnders. Some would say typecasting but that would be harsh.
I then worked for the next seven years with; the English National Opera, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the BBC, the Royal Opera House, plus numerous production companies working in radio, television and theatre.
TV credits included, Soldier Soldier, the Bill, EastEnders and other independent production companies.
A tough way to make a living but an unforgettable experience

Poppy Rackley

Hi I'm Poppy and one of the founding members of KAS. I started as a student at Kent Acting Studio in September 2016, then began helping with classes from 2017. I fell in love with Drama during Secondary School, studying Drama at GCSE Level, achieving a Distinction at A Level in Drama and a First Class Hons Degree in Drama alongside Creative Writing at Canterbury University. This allowed me to have experience with play writing and screenwriting as well as acting and directing.
I am passionate about live performance and have performed in musicals throughout secondary school at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone and in local amateur dramatics here in Wateringbury. I love teaching children and young people about the inner workings of live theatre and hearing their ideas and seeing their creativity (and confidence) increase!
Anything's possible on the stage!

Tia Bissenden-Ayears

Hi my name's Tia! A little about me, I worked and trained at East Sutton Community Youth Theatre from 2009-2018, then achieving a Distinction * in Musical Theatre A'level, I went on to study BA Screen Acting at Met Film School in London.
During this time I learned how to Write/Produce/Direct and Star in films, as well as all the other roles needed on a film set.
I am passionate about film and screen performance, and can't wait to share my knowledge.
Leaving university I was awarded a First Class Hons and have come back to Maidstone to teach and continue my craft. I'm all about embracing the crazy and playing around with new characters, leave embarrassment at the door!

Our History
After training and graduating from Mountview Theatre school I was lucky enough to work for several years in the industry of acting and drama. I worked successfully gaining roles in TV as well as on stage for The RSC and English National Opera.
With a young family to consider I later chose a more settled career path in business but never losing my interest in the Theatre. Finding there was a lack of drama classes in our area for my daughter to attend I began teaching acting to youngsters. Then after directing a local pantomime I became aware of a demand for acting and drama locally not just for kids but for adults too, looking for workshops and tuition or just light entertainment! Thus, The Kent Acting Studio is born in 2016 and now provides that missing link!
